Why Yoga? |
Ancient yogis and leaders of the Grecian School of Medicine like Aristotle, understood the innate connection between the body and the mind. It is only recently that modern medicine is finding the psyche/soma connection an area worth studying.
Yoga is a philosophy and a science meant to help us live our lives with less suffering. Transformation begins on the physical plane via the postures and breathing. The body sheds toxins and becomes healthier and more supple. The powerful effects of the practice are felt immediately and can impact how we feel, how we look and how we lead our lives. Yoga has helped countless people overcome various ailments and has allowed them to experience joy in their lives! My weekly regimen includes a daily Ashtanga yoga practice, pranayama, meditation. I take care of myself so that I can provide wholehearted compassionate care for the families I work with. My classes are fueled by my love of yoga and my deep connection and understanding of birth as a spiritual journey. As your doula, I employ all the relaxation techniques I have learned over the years to help you stay calm and enjoy your birth. |
